In the shimmering universe of boxing hypotheticals, one debate still shines brightly: Floyd Mayweather vs. Terence Crawford in their primes. A dream match, a fantasy duel of titans. On the hot seat, with an opinion that matters, is Shakur Stevenson. When probed on the ‘MILLION DOLLAZ WORTH OF GAME’ YouTube channel, Stevenson’s response wasn’t what many would expect. He laid it all out with complete honesty.

It’s no wonder that the topic of Crawford facing “Money” Mayweather, stored such a spirited discussion. But what would happen if they went against each other in the prime? The New Jersey native, conveyed his appreciation of both legends while explaining his take on who would win and why.

In the interview, Stevenson explained the complexities of judging a hypothetical match of that magnitude. Remember when ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd faced a particular adversary and stumbled a tad? Or when an opponent underestimated Crawford’s raw power? Shakur does. He explained the intricacies and nuances of how a professional boxer looks at a fight.

When asked about the fight Stevenson remarked, “Ooh hell of a fight.” He continued by saying, “I can’t give you an answer. What I can say is, ‘Pretty boy’ banging with ‘Bud’ would have been hard as he sh*t. He couldn’t go in there and have an all-out war because remember ‘Pretty Boy’ when he fought Demarcus ‘Chop Chop’ Corley, he went in there, pressed ‘Chop Chop’ out, but he kind of got hurt.”

The two-time world boxing champion continued to explain, “I love Floyd, you know I love you my guy, but I don’t think that at that point in time, ‘Pretty Boy’ could have got in a ring with ‘Bud’ because ‘Bud’ was real strong. Now, ‘Money May’, like his intelligence and the smartness that he had, and the boxer that he was I think that would have been a hard fighter for Bud to be in front of. So, it would have been like a 50-50 fight for me.”

The same question that Stevenson tried to answer, was also recently put forth in front of another veteran of the sport and his response was bold, to say the least.

Shane Mosley’s insight: Crawford’s power vs. Mayweather’s mastery

Shane Mosley, a legend in the boxing arena, during an interview with ‘The Art Of Dialogue’, predicted who would come out on top in the hypothetical matchup between Terence Crawford and Floyd Mayweather. Surprisingly, Mosley leaned towards Crawford, citing his hunger and versatility as game-changers. “Crawford has the same mentality as me. He’s going to come after you,” Mosley stated. But don’t count Mayweather out just yet. Mosley also admitted that “Mayweather knows how to play that.”

He compared Crawford to José Luis Castillo, who gave Mayweather a hard time in their first bout, but sees Crawford having an edge due to his physical advantages like long arms and a southpaw stance. While acknowledging Mayweather’s unparalleled boxing IQ, he still chose Crawford as the winner between the two.
