Shakur Stevenson has been the talk of the town in the lightweight division. The former two-time undisputed champion caused a stir in the boxing world after he made his decision to move up in weight class and take on the lightweights. But, amid all the callouts and a number of boxers who want to get their hands on the 26-year-old, the Baltimore hard-hitter does not seem to appreciate Stevenson’s antics in person and on social media. Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson are one of the most anticipated matchups in the lightweight division. Stevenson is eager to prove his acumen as a lightweight by going against one of the top pound-for-pound boxers.
An old clip of Gervonta Davis has resurfaced on the internet. He makes his point to Stevenson about showcasing different personalities in person and on social media. Stevenson is yet to announce his second fight as a lightweight. And was recently made an offer by the reigning undisputed lightweight champion, Devin Haney.
Gervonta Davis wants Stevenson to “stand on that”

A user named @dantheboxignman took to his Twitter to share a clip of Davis’s appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast which was uploaded earlier this year. And, while on the podcast,’Tank’ talked about the thing he doesn’t like in Stevenson as a potential opponent in the lightweight division. And sent a clear message to the former undisputed champion.
In the clip, Davis talks about the duality of Stevenson’s attitude toward him. Davis says, “He(Shakur Stevenson) throws shots and then wanna be buddy-buddy. If you like that, then stand on that.” The 28-year-old painted a clear picture for Stevenson and claimed that the new lightweight should be certain of what he wants from him.

Adding on to his call-out, Davis said, “Don’t be trying to say all this stuff on twitter and then run in my locker room and wanna take a picture.”

The three-division world champion has made it clear that he does not respect the two-sidedness shown by Stevenson. And, if Stevenson wants to fight him, he should stick to that attitude.
How is Gervonta Davis an important Opponent for Stevenson?
After dominating the featherweight and super featherweight divisions, it is Stevenson’s turn to make his name in the lightweight division. But, he has to go through some top names to make his mark in the division, including Gervonta Davis. A fight between ‘Tank’ and ‘Sugar’ is one of the most anticipated matchups in the sport.
