“He’s Not Making That Much”: Jake Paul Makes Startling Revelation About Floyd Mayweather’s Earnings Through His Exhibition Fights

Floyd Mayweather is one of the rare boxers who is still fighting well after his retirement. Mayweather’s love for boxing has not subsided. He still tries to find different ways to get back into the sport. After his last boxing fight against Conor McGregor, Mayweather announced his retirement. Still, there were rumors of him getting back inside the ring against Manny Pacquiao in an exhibition fight. Well, that didn’t happen, but Mayweather did make a return to the ring against an undefeated Japanese boxer, Tenshin Nasukawa.

Interestingly, many pundits thought that these exhibition events wouldn’t be a regular thing for Mayweather, but again, he proved the experts wrong. He has participated in seven exhibition fights in the last six years. According to many claims, these exhibitions have resulted in Mayweather earning millions of dollars. However, the famous Youtuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul, disagrees with such claims. He doesn’t believe ‘Money’ is making that much.

Jake Paul talks about Floyd Mayweather’s earnings from exhibition events

Jake Paul recently appeared on the Full Send Podcast, where he talked about his boxing career and how boxing has helped him find who he really is. In one of the segments, the co-host of the show, Steiny, talked about the success of Floyd Mayweather in the exhibition events. Mainly because he usually fights, as Steiny put it, “somebody you’ve never heard of and will make 10 mil.”

This observation was contradicted by ‘The Problem Child’. He doesn’t believe Floyd Mayweather is earning that amount of money through these exhibition fights. He said, “He’s not making that much, though.” Steiny pitched in saying that everybody quotes that kind of money when they talk about his purses. Paul explained, “Yeah. Just because like he’s trying to protect his brand and such, but he’s just doing like one-off deal with random distribution partners that are like guaranteeing him a lot of money and going to each company.”

Floyd Mayweather still has a lot of fans lined up who want to see him get inside the ring even today. However, his hype surely went down a little during his Aaron Chalmers fight, as the O2 Arena was, reportedly, empty for the most part. Interestingly, just after this fight, Jake Paul also indulged in a bit of an altercation with Mayweather.

Just two weeks after his first loss against Tommy Fury, Jake Paul attended the NBA Miami Heat game where he was confronted by the 50-0 boxer outside the Miami-Dade Arena. Floyd Mayweather’s entourage of almost ten men surrounded the influencer boxer. Many predicted that Mayweather was still mad about the ‘Gotcha Hat’ moment during the Logan Paul exhibition fight.

However, Paul made a run for it, as soon as he saw that he could not fight so many people. He later posted a story, explaining the situation. “So I’m leaving the Miami Heat game and Floyd Mayweather and 50 dudes pull up out of nowhere, out of like some side alley, waiting for me outside the stadium, and they’re like, ‘So what’s up? what’s all that talk now?’”

At that time, he even stated later in the video that they could squash their beef inside the ring if he wanted. He said, “If you wanna fight 1 on 1 let’s run it.” The reasons for Mayweather’s actions are still unknown, but many assume that they’re very much related to the earlier incident.
