Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk has been in the works for a couple of years. Given the stakes of this bout, the negotiations were bound to linger for this fight. Moreover, back in the summer of this year, it appeared the bout was as good as done after it seemed like they agreed on terms on social media. However, their assent was short-lived and the negotiations fell apart. That being said, in a recent turn of events. it is reported that both heavyweight champions have signed the dotted line for the undisputed fight.
Although the date of the bout is not made official, it is speculated to take place in the last week of December or in January of next year. Witnessing this, many boxing pundits and fans weighed in on this match-up to make their predictions known, including Shakur Stevenson.

The 24-year-old is the undefeated featherweight world champion. Moreover, back in April of this year, he made his debut in the lightweight division and is eyeing to fight for the title soon. When asked about this match-up, he considered the fact that Fury is evidently taller and significantly bigger than the unified heavyweight champion. In addition, he thinks, ‘The Gypsy King,’ is just as skillful as the Ukrainian.
Given the size advantage, while favoring Fury, he stated, “Uysk, I watched his last fight, he looks real good. He is a great fighter. I think the size is going to be too much. You gotta realize, Tyson Fury is two what? 270? He is too big for a lot of heavyweights and he got boxing skills and he got to know how to use size.”

He adds, “So I don’t know if Uysk is gonna be able to beat him. Uysk is tremendous talent. But I just don’t see it.” It is safe to say that if ‘Sugar,’ is a betting man, his money would be on Fury. However, let’s take a look at a boxing legend’s prediction for this fight.

Former boxing world champion predicts Fury vs Uysk
Retired boxer and former champion, Ricky Hatton gave his prediction for the heavyweight clash after much thought. According to him, Fury is very skilled, versatile, and has a size advantage. Considering the same, he fancied the chances of Fury more than Uysk. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “When you think Tyson has the height, the reach, he can box southpaw, Orthodox, stand there, sit in there, and have a fight, he can sit and sway and move and make you miss off the back-foot. He can lean, counterpunch, he does everything Uysk does and he’s got the strength and weight advantage.”
