Tensions are rising between Oscar De La Hoya and Ryan Garcia. The promoter and fighter have been at loggerheads in the past. However, it did not escalate to a lawsuit, unlike the present instance. Their fiasco commenced after Garcia was defeated by Gervonta Davis via a seventh-round finish. Post his defeat, the 24-year-old did not appreciate De La Hoya not being present in a post-fight press conference with him. Thereafter, Garcia did not shy away from making his dismay evident online. On the other hand, De La Hoya did not consider it to be a grave wrong on his end. Their tussle eventually led to ‘Golden Boy Promotions,’ filing a lawsuit against Garcia.

Amidst this, Garcia made headlines for training with none other than his promoter’s arch-nemesis, Floyd Mayweather. The two combatants faced each other in 2007 and the 50-year-old gave, ‘TBE,’ a tough fight but could not secure a victory. Ever since De La Hoya has expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision. De La Hoya is an active user of Twitter and does not shy away from making his thoughts and opinions known. After witnessing the pair (Mayweather and Garcia) together, on Twitter he stated, “Good to see with the guy I beat.”

A fan revealed that he watched the fight multiple times but couldn’t make a case for De La Hoya to be deemed the winner. The fan stated, “I watched that fight so many times and never saw Oscar getting the win”

On similar lines, another fan reiterated the same position and simply stated, “You did not beat Floyd”

On the contrary, one fan thinks that De La Hoya and Mayweather are great friends and their animosity is just for the show. He stated, “Floyd and Oscar shake hands and conduct business with each other behind closed doors.”
