Who will be the next mandatory fighter to super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez? We’re just a few days from finding the answer to the question. On November 25th, Demetrius Andrade will face off against David Benavidez to determine who could be the next challenger to Alvarez. Ahead of it, a prominent member of the boxing community has suggested the ways in which Benavidez could defeat ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade.

The last big fight for the year will give the world its next interim WBC champion in the weight class. Once that happens, the spotlights will glare extensively on the super middleweight. To bring this attention, Benavidez will have to bring his noteworthy technical prowess to the fight, while Boo Boo will have to keep his heavy jabs prepared. A leveled fight in its sense, early predictions have seen the latter assume the position of an underdog. In order to retain his favorite position, Mike Garcia suggests David Benavidez: “step it up.”

Mike Garcia’s Pre-fight Analysis: David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade

In a conversation with Fight Hub TV, the former world champion opined that Boo Boo will bring his A-game to the ring on fight night. He said, “Boo boo Andrade is slick, he’s got experience, tricky, he’s not one dimensional so he’ll give Benavidez trouble.”

However, he believes ‘El Bandera Roja’ Benavidez would adapt to the style of Boo Boo quickly. Most experts have cited the different styles of the boxers as the major contention for this fight. Garcia added, “Especially in the first half of the fight, I think Benavidez will eventually figure things out, pick things up, and then towards the end maybe like eight round, ninth round, figure things out to pick it up and possibly you know I see him winning, and it’s not going to be an easy match.”

Lately, Andrade has been fixated on a fight outlined against Canelo. The Benavidez fight he undertakes is an effort in that direction. However, the latter too joined the bandwagon. Garcia believes if Benavidez wants the WBC championship fight against Canelo, Benavidez will have to bring his best game forward.

He said, “Look Andre has been asking for big major fights for years, and this is basically his opportunity to showcase and really show why he was calling for the Canelo… I think he’s going to be best version of him. We have Benavidez too who is also calling out for big fights. Well, he’s done through Caleb, and now this one. He better step it up too.”

Benavidez Warns Boo Boo

Last night was the final press conference and meeting between the two contenders before they see each other in the ring. As a prelude to his game against Andrade, Benavidez spewed some venom. He said, “This is the best fight available as he (Andrade) is among the best in the division and he proved he is a great fighter, an Olympian, and a two-time world champion. It was the only course I could take to prove that I am the best.” Benavidez added that his opponent would not go down easy on the 25th. But that would not deter his efforts in going home victorious that night.
