Chris Eubank Jr.‘s cousin Harlem Eubank just defeated Timo Schwarzkopf to become the WBO Global Super Lightweight champion. Having dropped Timo twice, Harlem stopped the former with a massive right hook in the 11th round. Although the German boxer got up from the shot, his legs were too wobbly to carry him for the rest of the fight.
Following this latest victory over Timo Schwarzkopf, Harlem Eubank declared that he would like to move up in weight class and fight in the 147 lbs division. On being asked if was planning to square off against Conor Benn, the current WBO Global Super Lightweight champion answered in the affirmative. Here is what the 29-year-old said.

With the win against Timo, Harlem is now undefeated with 19 victories in pro boxing. Out of these 19 victories, 8 have now arrived by way of a knockout. Anyway, following this match at 142 lbs, Eubank believes it is time he moves on. According to the 29-year-old, if he can defeat a boxer like Timo Schwarzkopf who maintained an impressive resume in the sport, it’s a no-brainer that at 147 lbs he would put Benn in a fix.

Likewise, during the post-fight interview, Eubank said, “That’s what I’m coming for next. I’m sure if I can do it there against a guy like Timo [who’s] never been stopped, for sure, I can do it coming up to 147. Conor Benn, he’s first on my hit list.” While Harlem wishes to face Benn moving up to 147 lbs, it is worthy of notice that the former’s cousin Chris Eubank Jr. would likely fight Benn in January 2024. On that note, it is interesting to observe that although Chris Eubank Sr. does not support Eubank Jr. vs. Benn, he is in favor of Benn vs. Harlem.

Against Benn vs. Eubank Jr., Chris Eubank Sr. hopes Harlem vs. Benn will take place
In Eubank Sr.’s opinion, it is not ideal for Eubank Jr. to come down to welterweight to fight Benn. In addition, he feels it is equally unfair to ask Benn to put up weight and meet Eubank Jr. at the middleweight. According to him, once Benn moves up, it would be impossible for ‘The Destroyer’ to get back to 147 lbs. Likewise, Eubank Sr. feels if Benn vs. Eubank Jr. took place, it would destroy Benn’s career.

However, Eubank Sr. believes Harlem and Benn would do fine at 147 lbs. Hence, he said, “Conor Benn, 147 fights 147, stop hiding. Or come and have an open conversation in the public.” With that said, do you think Harlem Eubank vs. Conor Benn is an interesting fight? Let us know in the comments below.
