PFL’s vow to further gender equality is taking its shape as it has now signed three of the best female fighters in the sport. The league is currently undergoing some major additions to its fighter list as it looks to induct more female fighters in the realm of MMA. This time, in a shocking development, the boxer to sign with PFL is the British fighter, Savana Marshall.
Earlier, two of the biggest names in boxing Amanda Serrano and Claressa Shields were also roped in to fight under the PFL. However, the newest addition of Marshall opens up the pandora’s box of who will fight against whom? While a rematch between Marshall and Shields is still due, there are high chances of it now happening under MMA rules. But then, fans have also begun speculating a clash between ‘Silent Assasin’ and the Latino fighter Serrano. The latter had earlier stated that she awaited a befitting opponent against whom she can make her MMA debut.
But as this wave of revolution sweeps the PFL, which fight in the PFL would intrigue the fans?

Savana Marshall and the opportunities she brings to the table
It is unclear as to whom Marshall will get to fight against. Her ideal options like those mentioned earlier remain, Serrano and Shields. The former is a current undisputed featherweight champion who awaits to make her debut in MMA. A fight against Shields would mean that the two will finally get to have their rematch but under different rules.
Now, as we have another big name joining the list, fans have begun anticipating possible matchups.
The ‘Greatest Woman of All Time’, Claressa Shields herself congratulated both Sarrano and Marshall for signing the deal and celebrated the feat.

Unorthodoxx Boxing Gear rightly pointed out that Shields has ample amount of experience in a MMA style matchup whereas Marshall on the other hand has not tried her hand in MMA as of yet.
Shields has got 2 years MMA training on Marshall , not sure how this will work. Maybe in a years time? Marshall will have to work hard to catch up but it’s very achievable.

JT however still is rooting for the Shields vs Keith Thurman bout. The former has earlier announced that she is preparing to fight Thurman in a cross-gender boxing match.

However, as we turn our attention toward PFL, we see a much-needed paradigm shift taking place in combat Sports. They’re being promoted to the highest of their potential. This is to establish a norm wherein all forms of combat are respected despite which gender is fighting the matchup.
