The heavyweight division is about to witness another tackle of the behemoths as Anthony Joshua prepares to make a return to the ring against Francis Ngannou. Joshua plans to use this opportunity and defeat Ngannou so that he can earn a shot at the winner of the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk bout. But Ngannou believes winning won’t come so easy for Joshua.

In his last fight against Fury, Ngannou shocked the boxing world with his skills and power, as he even sent the ‘Gypsy King’ to the canvas. Ngannou believes that AJ won’t be able to stand against the power that had even Fury on his heels. But Joshua doesn’t agree with Ngannou’s remarks. What is AJ’s counter here? Here’s how he refuted the former UFC champ.

Boxing fans prepare for a thrilling clash next month as Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou face off in a highly anticipated heavyweight bout. Recently, Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou did a face-off interview for DAZN. During one part of the face-off, Ngannou made a bold claim regarding Joshua’s resilience.

Ngannou’s impressive performance against Fury last year, where he even knocked the champion down, has raised questions about Joshua’s ability to withstand similar blows. Ngannou himself expressed doubts about Joshua’s resilience, acknowledging Fury’s exceptional ability to recover from knockdowns. He claimed, “I think he’s probably one of the most resistant persons out there. That’s not a disrespect to AJ. I don’t believe that AJ will take what Tyson took.”

When the interviewer asked if whether Ngannou was claiming that Joshua doesn’t have a chin, he clarified, “(Not) as much as Tyson.” However, Joshua counter-argued, “Who hasn’t knocked Tyson down? So many people have knocked Tyson down.” Ngannou then replied, “Even going to the fight, I knew that even if I knock him down I will not get excited. That will not mean anything because he always comes back so I have to prepare for a very enduranced person. Psychologically, that’s how I was.”

This March 8th fight promises to be an exciting spectacle, with both fighters eager to prove their dominance in the heavyweight division. In the meantime, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn has something to predict.
