Francis Ngannou fought against all odds and gave Tyson Fury one of his toughest fights. Ironically, the CEO of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, did not fancy any chances of an upset. But post the bout, he vehemently asserted that Ngannou was the decisive victor. In addition, he was not impressed with the performance of the Heavyweight champion and claimed Anthony Joshua would defeat Ngannou if they ever fought one another.

A bout between them is neither official nor in the works. But that does not prevent the fans from speculating and making their predictions known about this fantasy bout. Recently, Spence Oliver weighed in on this match-up and favored ‘AJ’. Oliver is another British boxer who retired with a record of 14 wins and 1 defeat. According to him, Joshua possesses a style to not only defeat the former UFC heavyweight champion but also to knock him out.

Reflecting on the same, in an interview with IFLTV, he stated, “And now it just makes it an interesting one innit? Cause I saw Eddie Hearn saying, I agree with him when he said that you know he thought Ngannou won the fight and he went to AJ. See AJ boxes Ngannou, I think stylistically AJ would flatline Ngannou. I think that’s the way it goes.”

Oliver acknowledged that the MMA fighter is a formidable opponent and quite skillful, given the fact that he claims Ngannou won. But at the same time, he does not think, ‘The Predator’ has much chance against Joshua. Let’s take a look at whether his own trainer thinks Ngannou can flair well against heavyweights or not.

Ngannou’s trainer, Dewey Cooper, thinks that his fighter is here to stay given his performance against Fury, and is only going to get better with experience and time. Reflecting on the same, in an interview, he stated, “Well, absolutely he can. He showed his level, styles make fights.” He added, “He’s going to get better.
