After Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson was announced, several figures from the boxing world disapproved of the fight. In his interaction with the media, Oscar De la Hoya repeatedly claimed that Paul was not taking the sport seriously. Likewise, he advised Paul to fight top and active contenders in the sport. Meanwhile, analyst Stephen A. Smith highlighted that Tyson was often spotted walking with a cane due to age and certain complications.

However, while Jake Paul considered the fight scheduled for July 20th in AT&T Stadium the greatest opportunity, Mike Tyson promised to finish Paul’s journey in the sport. At this, radio host Charlamagne tha God argued that even if Paul beat Mike, it wouldn’t be impressive.

After several people doubted Mike Tyson’s abilities as he accepted the Jake Paul fight at 57, ‘Iron Mike’ shared his latest training clips. While in one, Tyson lifted weights and looked to be in tremendous shape, in another, ‘Kid Dynamite’ hit the mitts with extraordinary precision and speed. However, despite the training clips of Tyson, Charlamagne tha God disapproved of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. “It ain’t brolic though. It’s like old-man brolic,” said Charlamagne on Brilliant Idiots.

You saying he still got it. But listen, Mike lost a lot of fights. He lost like five or six fights. It’s still a 57-year-old man. If he beats Mike Tyson, I don’t want him to see it like it’s a thing,” added the radio host. At this, Andrew Schulz added, “If he [Jake Paul] does win, it’s not that impressive.” Undoubtedly, Charlemagne agreed with Schulz’s statement. In this context, Charlamagne alluded to Floyd Mayweather whose hat Paul had stolen in 2021.

Although Mayweather retired from professional boxing in 2017, ‘TBE’ has been taking part in exhibition matches. In addition to it, Mayweather retired with an unbeaten record of 50-0. Therefore, Charlamagne said, “If you spar against Mayweather and you beat Mayweather, that’s still something. Because Mayweather never lost a fight. You know Mayweather’s still pretty active in the ring.”

The rules of the Tyson-Jake Paul fight still remains unclear. While certain sources revealed that it could be a professional bout with no headgear on, the number of rounds, and the duration of each round still remains under wraps. The fans still have to wait for official confirmation from either Jake Paul or Mike Tyson’s teams.
