The world of combat sports is finally going to witness two behemoths of UFC and boxing explode on one another. This clash of titans has got the focus of everyone. Tyson Fury will finally be returning to the ring for the first time after his last trilogy fight against Derek Chisora back in December. After the Usyk fight fell off, Fury was under tremendous pressure to make a fight happen this year.
This bout will be Francis Ngannou‘s debut in boxing. After a long wait, he will finally get the chance to prove himself, this time in the ring instead of the octagon. Moreover, Fury has been training in a rather unconventional manner for the bout. He claims himself to be the GOAT. However, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn begs to differ.

Eddie Hearn recently appeared as a guest on Piers Morgan Uncensored. Criticizing ‘the Gypsy King’ he stated that, Fury’s focus solely lies on money. He stated that if Fury wants to be touted as the modern greatest, he needs to defeat Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua. He said, “He needs to beat Usyk and AJ and then we can talk about him – as I believe he is – as one of the greatest Heavyweights of all time.”
Hearn also acknowledged Fury’s victories against Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder. Furthermore, he also complimented Fury as he said, “Listen, he’s unbelievable. What he’s come back from, incredible, couldn’t commend him more.” However, he believes that just this is not enough to “create a legacy”. According to the Matchroom Sport Promoter, if the champion wants his name to be on the same level as Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis, and Joe Frazier, he needs to beat Usyk.
Khabib Nurmagomedov on Tyson Fury
It seems that the former UFC champion is backing Fury to win the upcoming bout. Khabib Nurmagomedov recently did an interview with Boxing Scene. Nurmagomedov stated, “Tyson Fury, this guy is the best right now. I think Tyson Fury is on a different level in boxing.”
‘The Eagle’ stated that he doesn’t see anyone in boxing who can touch Fury’s face other than “maybe Usyk”. According to Nurmagomedov, Usyk is going to be Fury’s greatest opponent and the “toughest challenge”. However, he shared his understanding with Ngannou fighting for a huge paycheck. He stated, “If someone pays you more money, go and take it, if your goal is money.”
