The training is on full throttle, as the much-anticipated fight between the Youtuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul and MMA fighter-turned-boxer, Nate Diaz is just a month and a half away from August 5, 2023. Jake Paul is coming off a tragic loss against Tommy Fury, while the former UFC fighter, Nate Diaz will be making his boxing debut through this fight. Diaz is considered an MMA legend, who’s making his entrance into boxing after a strong exit from his MMA career. He managed to make Tony Ferguson submit before taking his official leave from the UFC.
The 6-1 boxer has decided to go back to his roots, fighting an MMA fighter. The plan is to be done with Diaz so that he can move forward with the rematch against Tommy ‘TNT’. Nonetheless, many big names got their eyes stuck on this match-up, and recently, the famous boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn has also given his 2 cents about the enthralling contest in Dallas, Texas.

A month ago, Nate Diaz put out a 13-second video clip, where he could be seen throwing punches on pads. A lot of boxing fanatics criticized the way Diaz was punching the boxing pads with soft hands. This also turned the tide of predictions in Paul’s favor, as Diaz’s training seemed a bit ingrained with his MMA style.

Well, Hearn saw that video and instantly knew which way the fight would be leading. Not long ago, he came on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, where he asked him, “You know that it’s gonna be a mismatch again Jake Paul, don’t you?” Then he made it clear that he doesn’t have anything against Diaz as a fighter, in fact, he loves him. But he thinks that his upcoming fight is clearly a mismatch.
Helwani couldn’t believe this and asked him whether he was serious about what he was saying. Hearn replied with, “Yes.” Then Hearn also talked about how it’s a bit bizarre that he’s talking about Jake Paul, it’s not even Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua against an MMA fighter. On the other hand, a boxing legend stood with Diaz and warned Jake Paul against him.
But anything is possible, especially with the new rule revealed, there’s a chance that Nate Diaz may benefit and have an upper hand in the bout. So, what is that rule?
A major stipulation change in Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz
Recently, Nate Diaz showed his distaste with an 8-round fight. So, Paul came forward with his tweet, where he offered Diaz something that he desires, a 10-round fight!
Nate Diaz wants 10 rounds. I guess he has good cardio. Ok Nathan, 10 rounds it is.

But the Stockton fighter went back to the original tweet with his follow-up tweet, as he wrote, “I’m good wit 8“.

Well, all of this started due to Diaz’s revelation. According to Mirror, the former UFC fighter predicted that if he’s going to get knocked out in his fight against ‘The Problem Child’, it will probably be in the earlier rounds. So now that Diaz is getting ready to drop down on the canvas, he asked Paul whether he’s ready to get tired. Diaz offered, “Right now, let’s do 12 rounds. It doesn’t matter to me.”
