In the wake of Sugar Nunez‘s victory over Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov, Eddie Hearn cut his head and started bleeding. While Hearn’s cut was not as bad as the one Tyson Fury received during sparring, the promoter needed stitches too. So, what happened to Hearn? Well, the 44-year-old did not engage in pugilism like the fighters he promotes.
Unfortunately, he just happened to get a little too excited when Nunez stopped Rakhimov in the 11th round of their IBF title eliminator bout. In an attempt to celebrate the win, Hearn ended up getting hit by a hanging clay pot at his home. Subsequently, the following is what happened to poor Eddie.

Taking to Instagram, in one of his stories, Hearn reported that after Nunez stopped Rakhimov, he jumped up in celebration and was hit by a hanging clay pot. “Off to [the] hospital to get stitched after cutting my head open in the celebrations! Well done Sugar Nunez, that was incredible!” wrote Hearn. And after Eddie Hearn arrived at the hospital to treat his cut, the doctors told him that he needed two stitches.

“Docs in the hospital, they wanted to put two stitches. And I thought it’s not the greatest story in the world, is it? Two stitches. So, we left and got a little hole in the head,” said Hearn. Despite the cut he suffered as the promoter of Nunez, Hearn was elated that the Mexican stopped a boxer as good as Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov.
“Sugar Nunez [has] done the business in Tajikistan. It was an unbelievable performance. Rakhimov, who is so tough. We’ve seen him against Joe Cordina in a fight-of-the-year contender. This was another fight-of-the-year contender. But, what a massive win for Sugar Nunez! For Mexican boxing,” added Hearn who signed Subriel Matias lately.
