Scant are the names who can boast about conquering a titan in an all-out battle. Yet, Dmitry Bivol is proudly one of them, attaining a legendary status by defeating Canelo Alvarez. The California resident’s last visit to the Square Circle was back in November 2022 against Gilberto Ramirez. Since then, the boxing world has awaited his return to the ring. Fortunately, the wait is finally over as Bivol prepares for his comeback. Previously, Eddie Hearn revealed that Bivol suffered an injury and would be ready by October.

While Hearn’s prediction came true, Bivol isn’t the only boxer people have been waiting to see back in the ring! Deontay Wilder has been rather inactive, having fought in just one match since the 2021 loss to Tyson Fury. Moreover, Anthony Joshua is also among the names set to make a comeback in the same fight card. While the main attraction of the December 23 event was supposed to be Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk, now it proves to be a comeback bonanza. However, one question still lingers – who are they fighting?

Boxing editor for talkSport, Michael Benson, recently turned to X (formerly Twitter), sharing the details for the event. According to Benson’s tweet, Dimitry Bivol will defend his WBA light-heavyweight world title against 23-1 Lyndon Arthur. The same event will headline with the Deontay Wilder vs Joseph Parker fight.

Parker is coming off a win against Simon Kean in the Fury vs. Francis Ngannou undercard held in Saudi in September. What’s more, Anthony Joshua will make his long-awaited comeback after defeating Robert Helenius earlier this year. He will go up against Otto Wallin as the co-main event alongside Wilder and Parker on 23 December in Saudi Arabia.

While Bivol is set to fight Lyndon Arthur on 23 December, the revelation of another fight offer for Bivol has surfaced online. According to a report from Boxing Scene, DeCubas Sr., Morrell’s promoter, has denied the rumors of rejecting an offer to fight Bivol. David Morrell is preparing for his fight against Sena Agbeko in Minneapolis on December 16.

While speaking to George Ebro, Morrell’s handler stated, “They say that we rejected an offer to fight Bivol, and that is not true.” He went on to suggest that Morrell is ready for any challenge that is presented to him. “We have always said that we are ready to fight anyone,” said DeCubas Sr. Regardless of who the opponent is, Morrell is the first to agree, claimed DeCubas.
