While Haney appears focused and ready to defend his belt on April 20th, questions linger about Garcia’s well-being. Garcia’s mental health has become a growing concern amongst his peers and fans alike, especially since his recent outburst.
This unexpected twist has shifted some of the attention away from the fighters’ physical conditioning and has turned everybody’s attention to Garcia’s mental well-being. So much so, that Haney who was hellbent on putting down his opponent, even showed concern for him on social media along with the fans.

2023 proved to be a year of highs and lows for Ryan Garcia. On the bright side, his fight against Gervonta Davis was a commercial triumph, generating significant buzz and revenue. However, the fight itself ended on a disappointing note for Garcia, as a powerful body shot from Davis left him unable to continue in the seventh round. Later in the year, Garcia managed to bounce back with a knockout victory over Oscar Duarte in December. However, during the promotion of his upcoming fight, he took over an entirely different persona.

He started posting bizarre things on social media, one of them even indicated his feigned death. This concerned a lot of fans. Even now his X is currently full of random posts.
Seeing this, even Devin Haney hopped on X and wrote, “Free Ry..” Well, it’s definitely a matter of concern when one’s rival also starts being concerned about their welfare. And that’s what’s happening here. However, Garcia has explained his stance in a video and assured the fans that he was doing alright.

With concerns swirling around Ryan Garcia’s mental well-being, his ex-wife, Andrea Celina, has spoken out, expressing her belief that Garcia is struggling despite outward appearances. She claims he’s under immense pressure and not in a good place. This aligns with concerns voiced by British promoter Eddie Hearn, who witnessed Garcia’s “erratic” behavior at a recent press conference.

However, Garcia tried to put everybody’s concerns to rest. He made a video on Monday and explained, “I’m not in possession of my phone, I can’t get access to my Instagram. My cards are locked. I’m being really taken advantage [of]. I would personally want to just send out a video to the people that love me and my fans, family that’s concerned that I’m okay. I’m not dead, I believe in Jesus, all those [rumors] are lies.”
