Ahead of his Day of Reckoning clash, Anthony Joshua deviated from the norm during Wednesday’s open workout. Rather than showcasing his own skills, the two-time Heavyweight world champion opted to share the spotlight with local boxing club kids. Joshua entered the ring, threw a few punches, and then graciously invited the ‘next generation’ of boxers to join him.

Standing in the corner with his coach Ben Davison, Joshua admired the young boxer’s skills. He even posed for photos with them before fulfilling his media obligations. However, the fans did not appreciate this sort of a take on his media workout. They even talked about how Otto Wallin decided to display his orthodox style, which surprised a lot of viewers.

The incident was introduced to the public by the report of Michael Benson and that’s when the fans saw both boxers take out a different approach towards their open media workout. The fans were not impressed with Joshua.

One of the fans talked about the mind games played by Wallin as he chose an unusual stance.

Another fan predicted the fight in the favor of Joshua, and that too via a knockout. They don’t believe the bout would be going the distance.

One fan mentioned that they wouldn’t be surprised if ‘AJ’ loses this fight, and it’d be interesting for them to see the reason the heavyweight boxer could possibly give.

A fan, however, tried to turn the narrative a bit. They stated that it was definitely an interesting move to showcase his skills using the orthodox, however it could also get him knocked out pretty quickly during the bout.

An X user also went against Joshua, as they stated that maybe he would need a mattress instead of the pads. Mainly because he’d be getting knocked out.

Now, this did seem a bit absurd to some fans that Joshua didn’t really showcase his boxing prowess in the open media workout. So, he expressed his sentiments in an interview later.
