With the potential fight between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn rumored to be in early January next year, a back-and-forth between Benn and Chris Eubank Sr. is gaining momentum. The potential all-British fight between the two Brits has been scarred with controversy upon controversy. However, if the statement from Eddie Hearn is to be believed, the fight will definitely take place next year.
Previously, Conor Benn tested positive for banned substances, which got the fight canceled, and Benn had to stay out of the ring for over two years. While the National Anti-Doping Panel lifted the ban on Benn’s license, UKAD and BBBofC have appealed the decision. Moreover, after his return to the ring, Eubank Sr. suggested Benn fight Eubank Jr.’s nephew Harlem Eubank. Amid all this chaos, Benn seems confident about the potential clash with Eubank Jr. So, during a recent interview, Benn expressed his pleasure with Eubank Sr.’s involvement in the fight. However, he also cleared the air about ongoing fight talks with Eubank Jr.

During the interview with iFL TV, Conor Benn claimed that despite Eubank Sr.’s opinion about the fight, it will happen because people want to see it. “Whether he likes it or not, it’s the fight that’s in demand. It’s not really what he wants, what he prefers, and what he likes. The public demands it. So the public will get it,” said Benn.
However, he went on to confess that he was very pleased to see Eubank Sr. involved in the fight. “But, yeah, it’s good to see him back in boxing,” said Benn. Later, during the interview, Benn hoped that Eubank Sr. would attend the fight because the fight became possible because of Eubank Sr.’s and his father’s legacy. “I hope Eubank Sr. is there. This fight is happening because of Eubank Sr. This fight is happening because of Nigel Benn,” said Benn.
