Fans are presumably still full of hope as Adrien Broner tries to get his life back on track. Just a day ago, he called out Jay-Z, Gervonta Davis, and Floyd Mayweather Jr., repenting for any friction and differences. An old video of Broner checking ‘TBE’ for trading punches has started making noises. He returned to boxing after a gap of more than two years. Victory over Bill Hutchinson on June 9 proved that Adrien Broner still has much to offer to the sport.

Adrien Broner launched his professional journey in 2008. He grabbed his first world title, WBO Super Featherweight, three years later. The following year, he moved up a division he became WBC Lightweight champion. He repeated the feat three years later to become the WBA Super Lightweight title holder. But then he went for his first long break after the January 2019 loss to Manny Pacquiao. He returned two years to face Jovanie Santiago. However, soon the second long pause happened. Broner returned only by June 2023.

Last year, he joined the music executive NajiChill‘s podcast ‘Cigar Talk’ in August previous year. Video content creator and TikToker, @versus10110 shared the video two days ago. The message read, “Adrien Broner wants to fight Mayweather in [an] exhibition fight.” So ‘About Billions’ said, “If I was Floyd and…and he was me…. he would never have to fight because the exhibition shit as…as me being his little brother – hey little bro, we finna do 10 rounds, and we both gonna get a hundred plus million for it and we never got to box again.

Calling out Mayweather Jr., Broner said that the former might not have to return to boxing in any format. It will be the higher-grossing match of the five-division champion’s career.

A Remorse filled heart

It will be interesting to note that Broner’s comments come in the wake of his expressing deep regret over not paying heed to the advice Floyd Mayweather Jr. gave. Subsequently, he wrote a touching note stating his appreciation for the undefeated former champion. To most fans, it seemed like Adrien Broner had reined in the demons that haunted him. However, as his recent appearances proved, the reckoning stuck with wishful thinking.
