For 10 months, Conor Benn and Eddie Hearn have been stuck in a loop of giving tests, to the point that Benn even put it analogous to a “witch-hunt“. Benn tested positive for a banned substance, clomifene, which is said to boost testosterone by 50%. This was ahead of his family rivalry fight against Chris Eubank Jr. A few decades ago, Conor’s father, Nigel Benn, and Eubank Jr.’s father, Chris Eubank Sr. also contested against each other twice. Eubank won the first time and it was a split draw the second. But the moment their sons were about to settle things, Conor Benn had to relinquish his Boxing license in late October.
Since then he’s been in constant supervision, fighting for justice. Benn claims that the intake of the banned substance wasn’t intentional on his part, and shared a 270-page report to the World Boxing Council (WBC). They’re still fighting against UKAD, as the investigation is ongoing. Regardless, Hearn gave an update on Benn’s future. Well, recently the PED expert Victor Conte, gave crucial advice to Hearn and Benn.

Victor Conte addressed Eddie Hearn and Conor Benn about the ongoing investigation and provided them with a splendid way to cement their authenticity. He wrote that they should “enroll in 24/7/365 [VADA testing]“. As by doing that, Benn will be tested randomly in the year, and it’ll just cost him $15,000. It’ll also save Benn the hundreds of thousands, he’s paying to his lawyers.
IMO If @conornigel Benn & @eddiehearn would like to help reestablish his credibility he should enroll in 24/7/365 @vada_testing. For $15,000 Benn could be random tested year around. Instead Benn spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on laywers & still has a dark cloud overhead

Well, this tweet tasted sour in Benn’s mouth as he compared Conte giving him advice about drugs, to English TV presenter, Philip Schofield, giving somebody relationship advice. Schofield was reportedly caught having an affair with a young co-worker, which brought a tumultuous change in his marriage. Conor Benn replied to Victor saying, “crawl back under the rock you came from.”
You giving you’re opinion on drugs is like Phillip Schofield giving out relationship advice you helmet now go and crawl back under the rock you came from.

Victor Conte has a long history of dealing with performance-enhancing drugs. He has his SNAC boxing gym, based in California, where he worked with a lot of famous boxers. Although at one point in his life, Conte allegedly indulged in providing his fighters with testosterone boosters. In 2004, he confessed to providing Tetrahydrogestrinone (THG), known as ‘the Clear’, and some other banned substances as well, to high-profile athletes, even outside of boxing. He was even sentenced to jail for months. But now, he’s seemingly the biggest opposer to PEDs and holds immense knowledge about such substances and tests regarding them. Hearn also replied to Conte’s tweet.
Eddie Hearn’s response to Conte’s tweet
Eddie Hearn replied with a screenshot of Benn’s VADA negative results done on June 18, 2023. But then, Victor Conte clapped back again saying, it is probably the only test Benn has undertaken “since 2 + tests last year.” Then he offered to sponsor 2 enrolls of “27/7/365” for Conor Benn, and pleaded with him to agree to the benefit of boxing as a sport.
Congrats 2 @conornigel Benn & @eddiehearn on a recent negative CBP @vada_testing result. It's likely the only test done by Conor since 2 + tests last year. Please advise him that I will promptly sponsor $15,000 4 him 2 enroll in 24/7/365 testing. Please say YES for all of boxing!

Now, on multiple occasions, Hearn has reached out to Conte for his remarkable PED knowledge. As Conte revealed to Observer, he even reached out to him during the case of Julius Chavez Jr, where he sought his advice for opting for another testing agency other than VADA. Even during the time of Dillian Whyte, Conte stated that Hearn texted him, “Tell me about dianabol.” A few days later, Conte realizes, Whyte tested positive for the same substance ahead of his fight against Oscar Rivas on July 17, 2019.

But now, Hearn doesn’t want to listen to Conte. Conte’s past still haunts him, but his take on such cases has changed a lot within a couple of decades. His beliefs completely sit in opposition to the use of any kind of substance in sports. What are your thoughts on Conte’s advise to Benn? Do you think Benn should listen to Victor Conte?
