The ‘Knockout Chaos’ has begun, and it is living up to the hype that it amassed in the days leading to it. In the early undercard fights, super-welterweight fighter, Louis Greene defeated his opponent, Jack McGann in an impressive 1st round technical knockout. The style of his victory has impressed his former sparring partner, Conor Benn.

Currently underway, at the Kingdom Arena of Riyadh, an exciting list of fights is keeping fans on the edge of their seats. As the undercards form the premise for the big main event, Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou, Kent-based, Greene impressed fans as soon as the gong went off. He pressured his 9-1 record-holder opponent, delivering several combinations until he dropped him on the canvas in the first round. This finesse prompted Benn, who was in attendance at the event to give his take on Greene vs. McGann.

To DAZN, Benn sang praises of the 31-year-old fighter. Benn noted, “I’ve sparred with him before, he’s a strong guy, he’s hungry, and you know, he comes from a humble background. But you know, he fought that right and did exactly what he was doing. So he put pressure on him straightaway from the get-go, and that’s what he needed to do. That right hand was perfectly time and was perfectly positioned.”

A local publication from Kent, UK had reported that the two English fighters sparred with each other in 2021. It was when Benn was preparing for his tricky fight against Samuel Vargas, while ‘The Medway Mauler’ was scheduled to fight Przemyslaw Runowski in Poland. However, the fight, previously postponed on multiple occasions, did not happen eventually.

If the fight had gone his way, McGann was slated to compete for the vacant British title. However, his opponent, Greene did not let that happen. He redeemed himself from his on-point loss against Sam Gilley, whom he encountered in October 2023. However, when looked closer, this victory is his second chance in boxing.

Post-fight, in the ring, speaking to Ariel Helwani, 17-4, Greene noted, “I jumped from job to job that fits around [my training], provided for my kids, and being able to fight for a living. For this one, I gave up work completely to come here and put on a show.” For him, this victory has got him closer to a title fight in contrast to his life of digging up holes until recently. Greene explained, “I was digging holes, fitting water mains with my pal George, who is sitting there, in the slum we live in – it’s going to be rammed with the beers when I get back, boys.”
