In recent automotive history, one Mustang Shelby GT500 stands out as the epitome of iconic: Eleanor from the 2000 remake of the classic 1974 film ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’. Its legendary status is further fueled by the legal controversies surrounding its replicas. Starting its life as a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, this recreated masterpiece not only captures the breathtaking exterior of Eleanor but also embodies its enduring legacy as a classic.

Now, one of these cars belongs to none other than the boxing phenomenon, Canelo Álvarez. Álvarez showcased his $440,000 worth of a new car on his Instagram Story. He posted a snapshot of the car and wrote above the picture, “Ya casi está.” This translates to “It’s almost there” in English.

Well, this is yet another great addition to his illustrious car collection in his garage. It instantly gained attention when one fan posted a screengrab of his Instagram Story to X (formerly Twitter). The fan wrote in the captions, “Damn… Canelo with the Eleanor. Wow.” This allowed even other boxing fans to get a glimpse of Alvarez’s latest vehicle.

Many eyes sparkled at the gaze of the brand new ‘Eleanor’

The fans were amazed by the fascinating look of the powerful engine donned in silver with black stripes. They all had great things to say about the car and its new owner. One of the fans stated that Alvarez must have seen the Nicolas Cage movie ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ and got inspired for this purchase.

Another fan asked the account that posted the photo whether Alvarez would let him do the car’s rim job.

One fan had nothing else to say besides writing a half question which started as “Can Eleanor..” and ended rightaway.

A fan mentioned that this is their dream car that they’ve always wanted to drive.

An X user pointed out that the car is the embodiment of pure American “muscle.”
