He emphasized it’s Pretty Boy’s unfettered will to do whatever he wants. Furthermore, he discussed how he is retired now and might need boxing to keep himself engaged. Moreover, he also added that perhaps he could turn to exhibitions bouts once he’s retired.

Canelo Alvarez was asked about his opinion on the exhibition bouts of Floyd Mayweather. He said, Look, he’s retiring. He can do whatever he wants, right? And I think I’m gonna miss boxing when I’m retired a lot, and maybe I can do one or two, but you never know.” 

Soon after discussing this, the podcast turned towards Jake Paul’s wish to fight Canelo and his perspective about it.

There is a lot of buzz about Jake Paul’s wish to fight Canelo Alvarez after defeating Nate Diaz in his recent fight. However, looks like Canelo doesn’t see Paul as a potential contender. He clearly mentioned that he’s not ready for a “real fight” with Jake Paul. Canelo said, “…not right now, not a real fight, no, not right now, please.”

Furthermore, Canelo was cleared his reasons. He said, “For me, yeah, not right now because I’m chasing other things in my career, but we never know, maybe later, like after you’re retired, yeah.” Moreover, he also eked how it could be a little disrespectful to the sport. Additionally, he also told that he would knock Jake Paul in a few rounds if the fight at all happened.
