The former UFC fighter was asked if Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s fight really goes down in December as it is being suggested. He was asked his opinion regarding who would take the undisputed crown between the two. Now, Ngannou didn’t pick any sides directly, in fact, he was quite subtle in his approach as he praised both of them for their own unique abilities.

Ngannou said, “I don’t believe anything. I might just think about what could happen but I can’t say for a fact what is happen. I know it’s going to they’re both two fighters that are very smart, very strong, but I was to give a chance to Tyson because as I say I believe it is the best out there.” So, in quite an indirect way, he called Fury the best since he’s been told that he’s going against the best Heavyweight boxer.

At first, the rumors pointed toward a direction that the bout may happen sometime in December. However, Anthony Joshua has put forth a different scenario where this fight may happen sometime during March-April 2024.

Usyk and Fury signed a deal in October for the undisputed fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The world has been waiting to get an update for months now. The fight is a done deal now. But some recent revelations have made this anticipated matchup even more special. In a recent interview with BBC Sport, Anthony Joshua talked about how the discussions are going on to sell the Fury vs Usyk as a double bill.

They want Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder on the same card as them. He said, “They want to put Usyk-Fury, Joshua-Wilder on the same night. That might not happen until April.” He also stated that it’ll be difficult for Fury to jump in for an undisputed clash just after fighting Francis Ngannou. So he’ll need a break as well. Even Ngannou warned Fury to take the next fight on such short notice. The fight may happen in March-April next year.
