Can Ryan Garcia defy the odds to beat Devin Haney? Pundits and fans alike have pondered the same question since the fight was announced earlier this month. However, Bruce Carrington, who sparred with ‘The Dream’ Haney in the past, has got the answer to the question! After much back and forth, Garcia and Haney have decided to settle the debate!

The duo has fought each other in the amateurs six times, with each walking out with three wins. So, the upcoming April 20 fight in Las Vegas would be a finale of sorts to settle who the better fighter is! However, given the difference in what each fighter has managed to achieve in their pro careers, some people are leaning more towards Haney. While appearing in a recent interview with Pro Boxing Fans, ‘Shu Shu’ Carrington reveals whether he agrees with that!

Speaking to the reporter from Pro Boxing Fans, the Brooklyn native claimed, “We got to go off of the last fights, right? Ryan – his [last performance] wasn’t as impressive. And Devin, you know, he [made] a statement against Regis Prograis.” Elaborating on his last statement, ‘Shu Shu” suggested Haney didn’t have a bad showing thus far.

“I feel like as of right now Devin [is] just on a momentum. In terms of performance, he hasn’t really had a bad performance,” said Carrington. As for Ryan Garcia, the 26-year-old suggested, “He lost against ‘Tank.’ He had a subpar performance against his last opponent.” Carrington feels Haney would get the upper hand during their fight, taking all that into account.

“Honestly, I feel like Devin just has more in his arsenal to beat Ryan. But it’s also, you know, going to be interesting to see how those two [match] against each other,” said The Ring’s POTY. Despite that, Carrington felt Ryan Garcia still got a good chance of winning because “Garcia is still a very tough competitor in the 140 division.” While Carrington hasn’t dismissed Garcia’s chances of winning, a Puerto Rican boxer is confident about his prediction.

‘El Super’ on Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney

However, before the fight, he had revealed his predictions for the upcoming Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney fight.

But he performs. And he knows how to fight, and the number one thing is style makes [the] fight, and Ryan Garcia, he’s tailor-made for that.”
