It’s been over a year since that devastating knockout loss to David Morrell in Minneapolis. Per the latest update received, Aidos Yerbossynuly seems to have recovered and started living a normal life. In fact, the Kazak boxer appears to be planning for a 2024 return.
Last year, the entire boxing community went into shock. Aidos Yerbossynuly had challenged WBA (regular) super middleweight champion David Morrell. They met on November 5 in Minneapolis’ Minneapolis Armory. The match went right up to the final round. However, with barely thirty seconds left, Morrell knocked him out with a vicious right hook. Many fans might remember that, though Yerbossynuly got up, he just wasn’t himself. Even David Morrell had to rush and help the referee take the Kazak boxer to his corner. Later, he was taken to the hospital. Doctors had to put him in an induced coma since he suffered from a subdural hematoma.

Aidos Yerbossynuly: Returns to health, but a return next year?
Uzbek sports writer Jalol Akhmedov tweeted early today that many were keen to know the current status of Aidos Yerbossynuly. Then he shared that the boxer, who turned 32 last month, was faring well. He was able to manage his day-to-day life the way he used to earlier. Akhmedov added that the Zharkent-born boxer, perhaps buoyed by his progress, envisaged a return to the ring sometime in the upcoming year.
The sports writer said, “Many people are probably interested in the current condition of Aidos Erbossynuly, who fell into a coma after the fight against David Morrell? He is now doing well and is fully back to normal living conditions. He is planning to return to the ring in 2024.”

But from some of the reactions that came, it appears not all were enthused by the boxer’s comeback. Most sounded happy that he was able to regain his health. However, a general vibe suggested they would rather him consider the decision to box again. For instance, a user said, “Wow … he should never fight again! Hopefully he sees sense, as you shouldn’t play with your life.”
Aidos Yerbossynuly started his professional journey eight years ago, on October 2, 2015. Fighting in the super middleweight division, he won his first title, the WBC-ABC Continental super middleweight, three years later. The next year, he became the WBO Global super middleweight champion. Next year, he added the WBA international title. He was undefeated, with a record of sixteen wins in his kitty, before he met David Morrell.
