The boxing world is cheering for Ryan Garcia to make his much-awaited comeback to the ring after being taken down by Gervonta Davis in April this year. However, fans aren’t alone in that effort! In a recent turn of events, one of the biggest names in boxing, Mike Tyson, made his way to Houston to greet Garcia ahead of his fight against Oscar Duarte.
While ‘Iron’ Mike’s supportive gesture towards ‘King Ry’ will definitely be a motivating factor, Mike is wrestling with his own controversies. Back in 2022, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ found himself in a sticky situation during a JetBlue flight. A fellow passenger dared to provoke Mike, only to receive a serious pummeling from Mike as a reward. More than a year later, the same passenger is threatening Mike with a lawsuit – or $450K to avoid it.

Turning to Instagram, ‘Iron’ Mike shared a picture on his story feed. The picture featured the likes of Mike Tyson, Ryan Garcia, and Ryan Fiterman from Fiterman Sports. Alongside the picture, Mike announced his arrival in Houston to watch Ryan’s comeback fight with Oscar Duarte. However, Mike wasn’t the only one who turned to social media to share the click!

The CEO of Fiterman Sports also shared the snap on his Instagram account with a caption that read, “Houston takeover with Iron Mike! Had the pleasure of rolling with @miketyson to catch up with Ryan Garcia @kingryan before he lights up Houston tomorrow for his big fight at the Toyota Center!” With Mike’s arrival in Huston out of the way, here is what’s up with the ongoing JetBlue Controversy.
Mike’s accuser labeled pathetic
Turns out Mike’s punches rendered Melvin Townsend dazed for nearly two years! Following his introduction to Mike’s firepower in April last year, Townsend has now decided to capitalize on the incident. A legal representative from Townsend’s side has sent a pre-litigation settlement demand to Mike, alleging injuries from a purported assault from Mike.
Mike Tyson is facing a "pre-litigation settlement demand" for $450,000 from a man who he beat up on a JetBlue flight.
This is the grossest money grab ever.

What’s more, former NFL player and satirist Rich Ohrnberger isn’t having any of this. While sharing the news on his X (formerly Twitter), the ex-Patriot player called the lawsuit from Townsend a “grossest money grab.” He went as far as to accuse Townsend of setting a trap for Mike, which Mike walked into. It’s yet to be seen what happens in the lawsuit or if Mike agrees to pay Townsend $450K.
