Earlier this year, on January 21, Liam Smith showed off his boxing prowess as he achieved a stellar victory over Chris Eubank Jr. The fight which took place at the AO Arena in Manchester, ended just in the fourth round of the match-up. Clearly, the outcome demanded a rematch and it was originally supposed to take place on June 21. However, the bout got postponed to July 1 instead.

Subsequently, due to Smith’s injuries a second rescheduling took place and it was pushed to September 2 instead. The fight has the fans hyped and even the press conference was nothing sort of intense where Smith even ended up questioning the intelligence of his opponent. Now, the rematch is finally here and as only hours remain to the fight, the female world champion has already made her pick for the winner tonight.

Alycia Baumgardner has recently found herself in a lot of trouble after she tested positive for mesterolone, a form of banned steroid in a test conducted 3 days before her fight against Christina Linardatou. She has refused to admit to any wrongdoing and even released a lengthy statement in her defense. Moreover, even undisputed champion Claressa Shields supported and gave her the benefit of the doubt.

Baumgardner remains strong in the face of such adversity and has even taken the time to share her pick for the big fight tonight. She recently took to X and then wished the Liverpool native her best for the match-up. In her recent post, she simply wrote, “Liam go ahead and handle that easy work.” She appears to be expecting a similar result to the one earlier this year.

Smith remains unaffected by Eubank Jr. changing his trainer mid-camp

Recently in an interview, Michelle Joy Phelps asked ‘Beefy’, about his thoughts on Eubank Jr. making a drastic step of changing his trainer mid-camp. This is after the Brighton resident left Roy Jones Jr. and teamed up with undisputed champ Terence Crawford‘s trainer BoMac. However, Smith remained unfettered and stated, “I don’t really care.” The 5’9 ft boxer stated that Brain McLyntyre just wanted “money”. Moreover, he also claimed that money was the primary reason Jones Jr. left as well.

Furthermore, he also expressed doubts about Eubank Jr. learning anything substantially different in a matter of 4 weeks. He asked, “What can Bomac teach him in four weeks? Like to be realistic, you know, I don’t care how good the coach that he might be a good coach, he might not be. He might just be blessed with Terence Crawford; we don’t know.”
