Floyd Mayweather recently defended Canelo Alvarez against “cherry-picking” allegations. According to Mayweather, having fought “a lot of great fighters,” the Mexican boxer has both tested and already proven himself in the sport. Speaking to FightHype, ‘TBE’ even mentioned that Alvarez “went up numerous weight classes like myself and other fighters“. In this context, Mayweather concluded that Canelo is one “hell of a fighter” that boxing has seen.
After Mayweather’s acclamatory statements about Canelo Alvarez, Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, has now stated that Saul would look forward to silencing his critics against Jermell Charlo. In his latest tweet, Ellerbe declared that Canelo would want to “shut the naysayers up“.

Referring to such comments that doubted Alvarez’s abilities, Ellerbe said, “@canelo will look to silence the critics by putting on a dominant performance on 30 Sep. According to Ellerbe, “In this fight [Jermell Charlo], he wants to shut the naysayers up.” However, he also asked, “Will he get it done?” In this context, it is worth mentioning that Alvarez recently declared that he never forgets what others say about him. Likewise, he announced that he was excited to fight Charlo and make his opponent believe in his boxing skills.
“I never say anything, but I never forget. I always see everything [and] I know they always talk about me,” he said. “He never believed in my skills. But guess what? He’s gonna find out soon,” Canelo firmly added.
