It’s the age of cross-over boxing events! The latest names making the rounds in that regard are none other than Francis Ngannou vs. Deontay Wilder and Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz. In a surprising turn of events, PFL CEO Peter Murray confirmed he is actively pursuing the much-anticipated fights. If the fights were to come to fruition, it has the potential to shatter every single record set by boxing behemoths in the past. 

However, despite Murray himself confirming his intentions about the fight, the boxing world doesn’t seem convinced. Turning to X (formerly Twitter), Happy Punch shared the update with their followers. They wrote, “Francis Ngannou vs Deontay Wilder and Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz Super Fights in 2024 are in talks, PFL CEO Peter Murray confirms.” As the tweet started circulating on the platform, fans flocked to the comment section, expressing their skepticism about the update. 

Claims from the PFL CEO aren’t convincing enough

Each contender, the PFL CEO, is claiming would fight in the event are big money makers. Yet, such fights often fall through due to a variety of complications. Whether it’s the money or timing, things often end up disappointing the fans. Perhaps that’s the reason most fans aren’t willing to believe the news.

One user highlighted the fact that the fights are in the talks, implying it’s all about creating buzz. But in the end, nothing will come out of it.

Another user boldly claimed the fights would never happen. 

Someone else suggested Nate Diaz would never fight in the PFL. 

While most people wrote against the possibility of the fights happening, this user wrote about what would happen if the fights were to happen.

The next user seemed excited about the Francis Ngannou vs. Deontay Wilder fight, highlighting Ngannou’s last performance against Fury.

Given their popularity and the money-making potential, the fight could actually come to fruition. What’s more, Deontay Wilder even teased a fight against Francis Ngnnao a few months ago.

Before Ngannou schooled Tyson Fury in the boxing ring, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ dropped hints at his intentions to take on ‘The Predator’ as well. While appearing in an interview with ESPN MMA, Wilder revealed he has thought about a fight against Ngannou. “I’ve thought about this many times, even with Ngannou. We was talking about getting together,” said Wilder.

However, he claimed he wanted to make things even more interesting by fighting in an MMA setting as well. “I said I want to make it more interesting for the fans…how about you come to my backyard and…I can come to yours and cross over,” said Wilder. He went on to suggest nothing has been set in stone, but he is serious about the challenge.

Despite Peter Murray himself confirming his intentions, fans remain unconvinced. However, the prior comment from Wilder and Jake’s persistence to face Nate Diaz in the Octagon suggest the fights might be halfway there.
