Boxing is not the only thing Tony Jeffries is well-versed in. The 2008 Olympic light-heavyweight bronze medalist from Sunderland, retired from boxing in 2012 due to persistent hand injuries. Jeffries, who turned professional after the Beijing Games, leaves the sport with an undefeated record of nine wins and one draw. His decision comes after months of deliberation about his future in the ring.
The fighter has from then on tried his hand at multiple things, from coaching to starring in Netflix shows. In a recent X post, Jeffries reminisced about the time he acted in a popular crime thriller.

Tony Jeffries shares acting debut clips
Jeffries appeared on Netflix’s Crime Thriller, Blacklist. In the series, James Spader portrays Raymond Reddington, a former US Naval Intelligence officer who becomes one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives. However, he cooperates with the intelligence agency to track down dangerous criminals listed on his compilation, known as the ‘Blacklist’.

Jeffries shared a clip from the show where he can be seen knocking one of the characters, Tony, played by Megan Boone, down. In the series, he later takes her hostage and Aram Mojtabai, played by Amir Arison, shoots him to free her, ending his part in the show. The Olympic athlete wrote “When I was on the Blacklist TV show (on Netflix)”, sharing a behind-the-scenes picture as well. Fans could immediately recognize the former boxer while watching the show.

Tony Jeffries’ different enterprises
After retirement, Jeffries adopted a transition to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he proudly shared his progress online. Jeffries didn’t stop there; he became a highly successful boxing coach, partnering with a trainer in Santa Monica. Together, they established a boxing boot camp in collaboration with actor Mickey Rourke, though the venture encountered challenges and they eventually parted ways.

Jeffries’ fame soared when he was featured in Levi’s World campaign, gracing billboards globally. He also trained former MMA fighter Brendan Schaub, making an impact as his cornerman during a high-profile pay-per-view match. Jeffries’ journey extended into the music world, appearing in Skylar Grey’s ‘Cannonball’ video. Recently, he starred in a Dhar Mann video, showcasing his versatile talents. Today, Jeffries stands as one of the most sought-after boxing coaches worldwide, offering online lessons and personalized training sessions across his gyms.
