With big plans for 2024, Oscar de La Hoya has decided to move places altogether. While he adopted Los Angeles as his home till now, he has decided to move to the boxing capital of the world. The plan however is not random, it has been in the making for months now. As De La Hoya upgrades, he wants to be closer to where all the boxing is happening and be able to contribute to it much more than he is doing right now.
De La Hoya recently made a significant move from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, unveiling his new mansion at a media event. Valued at nearly $15 million, De La Hoya’s new residence served as the backdrop for the announcement. ‘Golden Boy’ purchased the home in the upscale MacDonald Highlands community in Henderson for $14.6 million in cash in May. This transaction topped the list of May 2022 sales in the Las Vegas area, according to the Multiple Listing Service of the Las Vegas Realtors Association. Let us delve further into it.

The one-story residence, spanning nearly 1 acre, is still under construction and boasts 10,460 square feet of living space, five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and an eight-car garage. De La Hoya is going all out with decorating the place. He even added a trophy room featuring some of his belts and robes, including those worn in iconic bouts against Chavez and Mayweather.

That is not all, he is planning to move Golden Boy Promotions to Las Vegas as well. Currently based in downtown Los Angeles, the company’s new offices will be situated in Henderson, Nevada, near the Raiders’ training complex. This move aligns Golden Boy Promotions with other major boxing entities like Top Rank, PBC, and UFC, all of which have headquarters in Las Vegas.

Oscar De La Hoya shared a video online, offering fans a tour of his “boxing room” featuring a miniature boxing ring. Within this space, he revealed plans to display robes of his opponents, including Floyd Mayweather, on golden mannequins. The room’s glass-tinted wall will showcase his impressive collection of 11 championship belts, with glimpses of the Ring magazine belt, junior middleweight championship belt, P4P belt, and more already on display in packages.
De La Hoya also highlighted the room’s setup for watching boxing matches on the wall-mounted TV. This dedicated space, adorned with mementos from his illustrious career, serves as a tangible reminder of the unwavering determination that propelled him to the pinnacle of the sport.
