Ebanie Bridges is all set for her second title defense. The IBF bantamweight champion will step into the ring to face Miyo Yoshida in San Francisco’s Chase Center. The fight, one of the undercards of the championship bout between Devin Haney and Regis Prograis, was initially scheduled against fellow Avril Mathie. However, the Sydney-born boxer pulled out on account of the injuries. Hence, 35-year-old Yoshida, a former junior super flyweight champion, stepped in at the last moment.

Ebanie Bridges enters as a sponsored boxer. Conor McGregor‘s Forged Irish Stout had promised to support the 37-year-old former Math teacher in her next upcoming bout. That brings into question an oft-repeated query on the kind of relationship she shares with the UFC legend. Bridges recently spoke in detail about what she plans to do after retiring from the sport. Additionally, she shed some light on the association with Conor McGregor, a subject that has been a darling of the tabloid press for some time.

Step aside, Ebanie Bridges is here!

‘The Blonde Bomber’ became the IBF (female) bantamweight champion last year. She defeated the reigning champion, Maria Cecilia Roman, by a unanimous decision to grab her belt. Eight months later, she was back in the ring for the first title defense against Shannon O’Connell. The outcome followed her previous fight. Fans might miss an all-Aussie fight because of Avril Mathie’s absence. Yet, on the thrill scale, the battle against the formidable Japanese Yoshida appears equally promising.
