It’s finally confirmed. Tyson Fury recently announced his next fight. The reigning WBC heavyweight champion will step foot inside the boxing ring to fight former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. This announcement comes after the news of the failure of numerous fight negotiations involving Fury. Many were certain that Fury would have to fight a mandatory challenger to his title. but the Brit had some other plans. And, even though many personalities in the boxing world are not in favor of this fight, it seems like all their protestations might go in vain.
Fury announced that he would be fighting the former UFC star next instead of an out-and-out boxer. However, Fury did not sign the deal for the fight without the required consultation. And the WBC president himself talked about the permission that Fury sought to sign the contract for this fight.
Fury’s “special permission” for the Ngannou Fight

Frank Warren has revealed that Fury’s WBC heavyweight championship title is not up for grabs for his October 28 bout against Ngannou. Moreover, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has opened up about the permission Fury needed for this fight.
Sulaiman said, “Tyson Fury received special permission from the WBC to fight Francis Ngannou as there is no official challenger.”
The reason for Fury’s fight with Ngannou is due to the absence of a mandatory challenger for the ‘Gypsy King.’ Many questioned the credibility of this fight, including Usyk’s manager. But it seems like these remarks should be enough of an answer to their doubts about this fight.

The fight with Ngannou, even though it seemed highly unlikely then, was in the back of the fans’ minds considering the conversation these two had immediately after Fury’s successful title defense against Derek Chisora.

It is not a secret that Fury was in negotiations for a fight with Andy Ruiz Jr, Anthony Joshua, and famously Oleksandr Usyk. But the negotiations with all these fighters did not bear any fruit, and ultimately a fight failed to materialize.
Will Tyson Fury fight Oleksandr Usyk?
Usyk and Fury are the two names the fans can’t wait to clash inside the boxing ring. But, as we all know, this matchup has been a source of disappointment for the fans in the past. However, the two are still rumored to clash in a lucrative Saudi Arabia fight in December.

As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the December fight. And, before December, the two have already booked their respective opponents who they need to beat to continue their undefeated streak.
