The former legendary boxing champion Mike Tyson is no mystery to us, be it for his athletic prowess, podcast presence, or as the younger generation knows, his acting history, nobody can deny the dynamo that he is. And recently, the illustrious boxer engaged in a candid conversation with current heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. To bring everyone up to date, Mike Tyson is currently training Ngannou ahead of his fight with Tyson Fury on October 28th. This partnership happens to be quite controversial because Tyson Fury, Ngannou’s opponent was named after Mike Tyson.

Though this particular interview had nothing to do with boxing, and with everything to do with who Tyson and Ngannou think their GOATs are. In a recent interview with the YouTube channel, Complex, ‘Kid Dynamite’ and ‘The Predator’ delved into who they thought deserved to wear that esteemed crown.

Mike Tyson And Francis Ngannou Pick Their Favorite Actors

In the Interview, the former UFC heavyweight champion and absolute storm in the octagon gave us an endearing perspective into his life. He says, when he was 5 years old, his father had a poster of the lionized actor Sylvester Stallone. He reveals, that he thought at that moment, as he laid eyes on Rambo with his bulging muscles and infamous bandaged head, that he was the greatest actor of all time. It is easy to see why the young Ngannou looks up to the acclaimed actor, having starred in the boxing-based movie Rocky. Stallone has influenced many impressionable young people, and Ngannou is certainly no exception.

Mike Tyson though, had other opinions. In his unfailing candor, revealed that he thought Denzel Washington, the undeniably great actor, was his pick. He says in his typical Iron Mike fashion He could play anything, he could play a blonde 10-year-old with Blue Eyes. He can do anything yeah.” Washington has been nominated for and has won two prestigious Academy Awards.

The Crossover appeal

The conversation between Tyson and Ngannou was a refreshing glimpse into the lighter side of two combat sports icons. While they are in constant pursuit of athletic high standing, it is quite endearing for us to see them enjoy and appreciate the same artistic experience and artistry that we do. Mike Tyson has himself been a celebrated and well-loved Hollywood icon. His influences cross the boxing ring. Honestly, he is definitely an easy guy to like, garnering him a legion of admirers.
