Moreover, in a recent interview with ESPN, he also revealed a special request he made to Mike Tyson three years ago. But what was this request?  And how does it affect the most anticipated fights in recent history? Let’s find out!

What request did Francis Ngannou have for Mike Tyson?

Ngannou unraveled that three years ago, he had implored Tyson to train him whenever the time comes to fight Tyson Fury. He said, “Whenever I fight Tyson Fury, please would you help me for training?”

Further, he was in awe of Tyson’s affirmative response. Additionally, he also showed Ngannou some moves and training techniques at the time. Ngannou further added, “That was three years ago. Nobody could have believed that this would happen, but today, we are here for real.”

Moreover, the bond between Ngannou and Tyson has grown since that initial meeting.  ‘Iron Mike’ on UFC fighters trying boxing

‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ said, “say you are champion for five years and I’m champion for one year and I’m tripling your money. I’m defending my title for millions of dollars you’re just defending your title for hundreds of thousands maybe a hundred thousand dollars.”

Further, Tyson had a pretty unique claim. In his opinion, UFC fighter who don’t wish to enter the ring are making a huge mistake.  He said, “The money is just different and if they don’t get involved they are stupid.”

Additionally, the fight between Ngannou and Fury is not just a clash of champions. It’s about the versatility of champions and their willingness to surpass boundaries. But the pay difference aspect is definitely apparent in both of their sports. Where Fury earned a whopping $33.6 million for his win against Dillian Whyte,  Ngannou could only procure $600,000 against Ciryl Gane.
