Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has stated that his team-mate Iker Casillas will be making the correct decision if he moves to Porto from Real Madrid. But the 23-year-old right-back admitted that Sergio Ramos is unlikely to leave the Santiago Bernebeu.

Ramos has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, after reports claimed that the 29-year-old central defender and club president Florentino Perez are not on the same page anymore.

But Carvajal insisted that Ramos is still one of his team-mates and it is hard to imagine him in a different shirt next season.

“I don’t know. All I do know is that he is a teammate of ours and a cornerstone of Real Madrid, and no one can imagine him in the shirt of another club”, Carvajal told Spanish newspaper AS Diario.

However, Carvajal backed the Casillas’ potential departure from the club, and stated that a switch to Portugal might be a good move for the 34-year-od’s future.

“I repeat: I don’t need to get into that topic. I think it’s something you’d have to ask him,” Carvajal continued. “I have an exceptional relationship with Casillas, and if he’s made that decision, I think it will be the best for him.”

Casillas, who has made over 700 appearances for the club in all competitions, has been linked with a move to Portuguese giants Porto, with Los Blancos’ pursuit of David de Gea placing his future in further doubt.
