On WWE SmackDown, the heel team of Bayley and Carmella defeated Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair in an exciting tag team match. The faces entered the match, thinking they had nothing to lose. But reality is quite contrary to that.
Carmella pinned the SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and will now wait for a title shot.

The match began with Carmella squaring up the EST of WWE. However, Belair got the better of Carmella in the exchanges which led to Bayley entering the match.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion has her beef with Bianca, and she used that animosity to dominate her. Bayley had a target on Bianca’s right arm and nearly destroyed it.
Belair fought off the heels and made the tag to Sasha Banks. The Boss comes out of the gates flying, running wild over the former Princess of Staten Island.
Banks smashed Carmella repeatedly with her patented running knees, but Bayley broke up the subsequent pinfall. Bayley tried to stop Banks from tagging Belair but received a mouth full of steel, courtesy of the steel steps.
Carmella blasted Banks with a super-kick and tried to imitate the champion by attempting the running knees. Banks got up and locked in the Bank Statement, the move that made Carmella tap at WWE TLC.
Carmella’s assistant, Reginald, pulled his employer to safety and went face to face with Banks. With the Boss distracted, Carmella connected with the Mella-buster and picked a huge win.
How does the result affect the WWE SmackDown Women’s Division?

This result straightens the course for the SmackDown Women’s Division in 2020. With mega-popular faces like Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair, the roster needs to balance it out by showcasing some cunning heels. Bayley was undoubtedly the best heel in all of wrestling in 2020, and she looks to stick to her form in 2020.

The repackaging of Carmella has worked brilliantly. Gone are her days of moonwalking and hanging out with R-Truth. By ditching the earlier persona, and adopting this diva-like persona, Carmella has instantly become so much more interesting. WWE rewarded her with the SmackDown Women’s title shot, but they might have something in store for her at the Royal Rumble.
Speaking of the Royal Rumble, Bianca Belair and Bayley are two favourites to win the Rumble match. With Sonya Deville returning to SmackDown, the blue brand has the higher odds of producing a winner. As for Banks and Carmella, it looks like we’re getting part II of their brilliant rivalry.
