Bett1Hulks Indoors, the first tournament of the ATP 250 Cologne Open 2020, ended with Alexander Zverev winning the title. Frenchmen Nicolas Mahut and Pierre Hugues Herbert emerged winners in the men doubles category. The three Cologne Open 2020 winners recently shared a light moment. Zverev interrupted the French duo between an interview and added a dash of humor in the conversation.
Mahut and Herbert were speaking in French when Zverev came out of nowhere. He put his arms on the shoulders of both the champions and jokingly asked, “What are you talking about?”

In response, an enthusiastic Mahut said that they were talking about him. Zverev looked like he was in a mischievous mood. He started asking them why they were talking about him. Mahut replied that they were talking about how Sascha was able to play 3 to 5 sets as he had taken part in the doubles’ category, partnering his brother Mischa Zverev.
“I am young. I can play for 8 sets, 10 sets. It doesn’t matter,” joked the World No.7 Zverev.

“You know, I saw you for so many years. I have then, kind of, adjusted a little bit. I can’t play like you but you know, I am trying,” continued Zverev before leaving.
This little interaction between the three refreshed the mood, and both Mahut and Herbert were left laughing. Something about the 23-year-old German seems to always compel people to engage in conversation. He never lets any conversation feel drab and boring.
Zverev definitely tried to joke about Mahut’s age when he claimed that he was young. But the Frenchman clearly took it lightly and enjoyed the humor.
