‘The Destruction of Verdansk’ is finally complete, with Verdansk’84 being the future of Call of Duty: Warzone. Apart from the content trailer, little information is available about the upcoming map. Naturally, as the map has arrived, internet sleuths have been looking for as many hints to visualize all the new content coming to Verdansk’84.

At the end of Season 2, the Nuke event destroyed the previous map completely. With the recent Black Ops Cold War integration, Call of Duty: Warzone has also entered a content space than just sticking to mere gameplay. Even though the storyline is secondary to a Battle Royale game, Raven Software plans to offer an interesting explanation to everything that happens in Warzone.

To curate the perfect content for Call of Duty: Warzone players, the developers, recently launched a survey. With that survey, Raven essentially wants to get feedback on how players have felt about the Verdansk’84 map. An interesting observation that came out of this survey was an option mentioning ‘Fast Travel’.

Surprisingly, the game doesn’t yet have anything close to fast travel. However, the survey could possibly mean that the ‘Red Door’ appearing in the Season 3 cutscene has some secrets. While there is no official information on this, fans have many theories revolving around the future or ‘past’ of Verdansk.

The new Call of Duty: Warzone map might be a flashback

Fans suggest that the nuke that destroyed Verdansk to protect it from all the zombies sent players into a flashback. It is this flashback that arrived through the Season 3 Verdansk’84 map. Moreover, fans also expect this flashback to explain the reason behind the whole zombie horde storyline and how the map got infected in the first place.

This theory further states that over the course of the next few months, Activision will roll multiple updates to forward the storyline. Finally, at a later stage, once they fully explain the story, the developers will release the ‘nuked out’ Verdansk map. Therefore, players would be able to play amidst all the annihilation that recently occurred.

The story might seem very far-fetched. However, flashbacks and time jumps are a common occurrence in the Black Ops franchise. And, following the Cold War integration, Warzone is officially a part of the same. While all of this does sound interesting, hopefully, developers will give equal importance to the mechanics of the game as well.
