Recently, Jack “CouRage” Dunlop suggested a change in the buy zone feature in Call of Duty Warzone. The game has already seen some changes, and CouRage’s tweet suggesting this change got mixed reactions, with many pointing out what might go wrong with it. In the tweet, he says that the location of the buy zones should be made permanent.
HOW ARE BUY ZONES NOT PERMANENT IN WARZONE?!
How is the most important part of the game (the money system) determined by randomly generates buy zones? Shit makes me so frustrated.
I get punished because of coin flips. So stupid.

Call of Duty Warzone is one of those games that sees an ever-changing meta to cope with various issues and features. Usually, it is the balancing of the weapons. For quite a while, the Grau 5.56 has been a major issue, and currently, it is the Bruen MK9 LMG. Not to mention guns like MP5 have also been accused of making the gameplay easier and hence, give an advantage.
CouRage had recently mentioned that playing with the Bruen takes no skill, and looks like he is done with it infecting the gameplay.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but…
I miss Grau Warzone.
Bruen/FAL Warzone is TOUGH.

But anyway, let us focus on the pros and cons of the change he suggested.
How will stagnant buy zones change the gameplay meta of Call of Duty WZ?
CouRage’s point is that the buy zones are one of the most important aspects of the game. He believes if they are fixed to particular locations across the map, it will be really convenient for the players rather than looking for one at the time of need. Now, one of the major issues that this may lead to is camping. This is exactly what Nickmercs pointed out to him.
Nah you’re buggin’ if you want perma buy stations! I’m telling you..
Corny little timmys will camp them all day. Trust.

CouRage has given a rather strong counter-argument to this. The buy zones are visible on the map and so players are going to camp anyway. Another player replied that it might compromise the randomness of the gameplay that makes it so much fun.
This was CouRage’s reply.
Floor loot?
Bus pattern?
What you get from chests?
What direction enemies are pushing from?
How many enemies you could potentially encounter at any given moment? That isn’t enough RNG for you?
— Jack “CouRage” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) July 31, 2020
Now, here is the thing. Permanent buy stations will, of course, end up being a highly camped hotspot. On the other hand, random buy zones, even though visible on the map, urge the players to change their drop zone and gameplay, thus keeping the game challenging. If the buy zones were permanent and not show up on the map, players would still memorize the spots.

But CouRage believes there is already enough randomness in battle royale games.
No. It’s terrible. There is enough RNG in battle royales. Buy zones shouldn’t add to it

We are sure there are other factors infecting the game, primarily cheating and gun balance. But a change as big as making buy zones permanent will require conjecture and trial runs to check its validity. We would love to hear your thoughts on whether you support CouRage on this or not.
