The community often complains about the dominance of certain weapons in the meta in Call of Duty Warzone. From the looks of it, this narrative will change with Season 3 of the game.

These are the tunings in Assault Rifles, SMGs, Sniper Rifles, and Tactical Rifles, as announced by Raven Software in a recent blog:

Assault Rifles

Cold War AK-47

  • Recoil pattern has been adjusted

Owing to its unusual recoil pattern, the Cold War AK-47 seemed ineffective at longer ranges at times. With the latest adjustments, the gun will be effective at almost all ranges.

FARA 83

  • Minimum damage increased from 25 to 26
  • Maximum damage decreased from 33 to 31
  • Maximum damage range increased by 17%
  • Recoil pattern has been adjusted

To make the FARA 83 and the FFAR 1 a little more different, the developers have changed the former’s recoil pattern and damage output. It is now an approachable weapon for mid-range fights.

FFAR 1

  • Maximum damage decreased from 30 to 27
  • Maximum damage range decreased by 15%
  • Neck damage multiplier changed from 1.1 to 1
  • Upper torso damage multiplier changed from 1.1 to 1
  • ADS speed decreased slightly

It won’t be an overstatement that the FFAR 1 dominated Season 2 of Call of Duty Warzone. So much so that the players started ignoring the other Assault Rifles in the game. The aforementioned changes will make the FFAR 1 a much more balanced option in the category.

Groza

  • Recoil increased slightly
  • ADS speed decreased slightly
  • Upper torso damage multiplier changed from 1.3 to 1.1

Krig 6

  • Head damage multiplier changed from 1.4 to 1.5
  • Neck damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.3
  • Upper torso damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.1
  • Lower torso damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.1

Raven Software’s aim with Season 3 is to make the Assault Rifle category of weapons highly competitive. Accordingly, the KRIG 6 has finally received some well-deserved buffs and it can now compete with other popular weapons like the FFAR 1 and the Groza.

QBZ-83

  • Move speed increased
  • ADS move speed increased
  • Neck damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.2
  • Upper torso damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.1

Submachine Guns

LC10

  • Bullet velocity increased slightly

Mac-10

  • Maximum damage decreased by 1

Sniper Rifles

Pelington 703

  • ADS speed increased
  • Raise time increased slightly

Tactical Rifles

Cold War Tactical Rifle Charlie

  • Time between bursts increased by 33%
  • Neck damage multiplier changed from 1.8 to 1.3

The Tactical Rifles in Season 2 did not require the users to master their aim, as they could simply rely on their explosive fire rate and burst pattern. However, with Season 3, these weapons will only offer a fast TTK when fired with proper aim.

Roze operator skin finally gets a nerf

After recurring demands by casual players and content creators like Jack ‘CouRage‘ Dunlop, Raven Software has nerfed the Roze operator skin. It will be more visible/readable in areas where sources of light are present.
