Season 6 of Call of Duty Warzone and Modern Warfare went live recently, and it brought a lot of exciting content for fans. In Warzone, the update introduced players to the subway system, enabling fast-travel and adding more strategy to survival in the map. Players also got to experience a new limited-time mode, Armored Royale, along with some tweaks to the weapons rotation system, among other changes.
However, there is something else that is drawing the community’s attention. Apart from showcasing the new gameplay features, the Season 6 trailer included a teaser of what fans can expect in the coming weeks.
Towards the minute mark, the trailer showcased a moonlit forest at night, followed by a burst of creepy laughter. The caption read, “The Haunting Begins October 20”.

According to Activision’s?roadmap for Season 6, an event called Haunting of Verdansk will begin on October 20, lasting until November 3. The event will bring new limited-time modes, rewards, and more.
Beyond that, currently, there is no information available about what the event comprises. The consensus in the community is that it is going to be a Halloween-themed event.
Meanwhile, Call of Duty content creator, The Gaming Merchant, has spilled the beans about the upcoming event. He believes that zombies will embark on the Warzone map with the Halloween event.

Halloween event might bring zombies to Call of Duty Warzone
According to The Gaming Merchant, Warzone is set to receive a Zombies Royale mode with the Haunting of Verdansk event. During this event, Verdansk will reportedly bear a nighttime appearance, as shown in the Season 6 trailers.
Moreover, the nighttime setting will not just occur in the Zombies mode, but also across other game modes.
He offered a description of the new game mode in his video. “Be the last team with a human alive to win. Players turn into zombies on death but can become human again by consuming fallen players’ hearts“. The YouTuber came across some leaked images for this mode, but refrained from sharing anything due to copyright reasons.
He also mentioned some descriptions and references to the Zombies Royale mode found in the game files. Perhaps different types of zombies with special traits or abilities could be a possibility.
Besides that, the Undead Forces Bundle has arrived at the store. This cosmetic bundle contains a Hellhound finisher, along with a zombie-themed charm and a calling card.
Although he couldn’t share the leaked images, The Gaming Merchant stated that the zombies in the game mode look precisely like the one shown in the bundle’s calling card.
The prospect of Warzone zombies is appealing, but that’s not all that is coming. Surprisingly, the map from the previous Call of Duty BR is supposed to make a return too.

Blackout’s Alcatraz might be coming to Warzone
According to the COD YouTuber, the Alcatraz map from Black Ops 4’s Battle Royale mode, Blackout, is likely to come to Call of Duty Warzone. He came across some more leaked images online but, once again, refrained from sharing those due to copyright issues.
Apparently, it is the same map featured in Blackout, which will be moving over to Warzone. He added that Alcatraz is probably going to release alongside the Zombies mode during the Halloween event. While the introduction of Zombies in Warzone is exciting news for fans, the inclusion of Alcatraz might come as a surprise to many.
