The rumors of a nuke event that shall lead to Verdansk blowing up have been floating around for a long time. Before the release of the synchronized Season One for Call of Duty Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare, the developers had even teased nuclear warheads and rockets in bunker 11 and bunker 10, respectively.
Surprisingly, all these teasers did not lead to an actual in-game event. Instead, players could unlock an ending cut-scene for Warzone by completing the latest intel. Even though such an event seems like a far-off possibility now, a trusted insider feels differently.
In a recent tweet, Modern Warzone claimed Verdansk will still go through a nuclear attack that will extirpate it. However, there seems to be no concrete source for the information.

Call of Duty: Warzone following Fortnite’s lead?
Over the years, Epic Games’ battle royale game, Fortnite, has had a plethora of live events for its players. These include collaborations, tournaments, and most importantly, events that carry forward the in-game storyline.
Chapter 1 of Fortnite ended with the entire map blowing up because of the Zero Point’s energy. Players witnessed this live, following which the game’s servers went inactive for some days and returned with a new map.

If ModernWarzone’s claims are true, Infinity Ward and Raven Software might plan a similar live event for the players. Verdansk, as we know it, might blow up in front of the players, and a new map shall arrive soon.
Call of Duty Warzone released on March 10, 2020, and is nearing its one-year anniversary. Despite competing with the likes of Fortnite, Apex Legends, and PUBG, the game has been an astounding success. Millions of players have made glorious memories while exploring Verdansk, and to say the least, this is the ideal time for the developers to bring a new map.
