Call of Duty Warzone is Infinity Ward’s first real attempt at a battle royale title. It has proven to be a huge success within days of its release. The game sold more than a cool 30 million units within the first 10 days of the release, making it an instant hit. While the community is already huge, hacking has become a commonplace too.
The first BR title in the Call of Duty series, Warzone has given players a different take on the genre. More than an all-out battle between the players, it inclines more towards your positioning and tactics. Not everyone loves that, but why not have a slightly different game?
Having said all that, it is far from the biggest issue facing Call of Duty Warzone. It may not share similar gameplay as other BRs, but the one thing it does have in common with them is hacking. The title may be less than a month old, but that has not stopped hackers from pervading the game and ruining the experience of countless other honest players.

Astonishingly, Infinity Ward and Activision have announced that more than 50,000 accounts have already been permabanned for the same reason! As a player, even the best of games can quickly be ruined if it is riddled with cheats and hacks.
I’m average at best, but add hacks to the picture and suddenly I start performing as if I were running around with a real gun, in real life- utterly lost, and full of bullet-holes.
There are multiple ways to hack and gain an advantage, which has plagued many games for a long time, such as aimbot, wallhack etc. I mean, how is that even any fun?

Call of Duty Warzone developers vow action
In a statement by Activision, the developers stated their efforts in making sure they rid the game of as many cheats as possible. The good news is that the developers are working on it.
Firstly, they are making the in-game reporting system better and more efficient. They also have security teams in place that are tasked with “investigating data and identifying potential infractions”, 24/7. They have also vowed to keep the players informed about the numbers on banned accounts.

Of course, we have heard this from developers of many other games, but to no real avail. The developers don’t really do enough or the hackers find a way anyway. However, I am glad to see the developers enthusiastic enough about taking action and keeping the community informed on proceedings.
Let’s hope the cheats are confined to a bare minimum going forward.
