Infinity Ward is in something of a conundrum these days. Their maiden venture into the Battle Royale genre with Call of Duty Warzone saw millions of players flock to their title. It was a massive hit within 10 days of launch. If they thought it was smooth sailing from there on out, they were gravely mistaken.
Persistent Issue fro Call of Duty Warzone
A few small issues here and there are hardly uncommon in most games. Fortunately, most issues and bugs have easy fixes too. But what about a major issue that is hard to resolve? Warzone developers are having to deal with exactly that; the major issue here is a plethora of hackers in their game.

The hacker issue in the arcade shooter soon took a toll. Naturally, the issue put off many gamers, especially casual and average players. Furthermore, console gamers went to lengths to disable the crossplay feature, cutting themselves off from PC users. Many honest gamers simply started quitting the game out of sheer frustration.
But then, Infinity Ward came up with a new idea to resolve the issue, albeit in an unconventional manner.
A Loophole in the Solution
A few days back, the developers announced they would incorporate a unique system that would pit hackers against each other as a punishment of sorts. At first glance, it seems like a very apt solution to the issue; if you’re a cheat you’ll only play against other cheats. This way, it would be the hackers who were left frustrated rather than honest users.
Unfortunately, their new approach has proven to be problematic, throwing up yet another issue. How do the developers discern the hackers from the truly skilled players?
From what we can tell, a player is deemed to be a hacker if they get excessive reports and have had some exceptional results. However, this could easily constitute honest gamers who are simply gifted.
I'm being put in Cheater lobbies at least a few times per day.
This is stupid. Fix it please@InfinityWard @Activision https://t.co/J162GPgBsT

Popular eSports commentator pointed out exactly what the problem with the new system was.
Ya that was my other thought. We win a few games in a row with 70+ kills do we somehow get tossed into it lmao
If it’s just by reported then I imagine really good players get reported a fair amount too. Thankfully, I’ll never get reported 🤣

Unfortunately, Infinity Ward just cannot get it right with this hacker problem. Innovative as it was, the new method has gaping loopholes. Clearly, they need to come up with a more sophisticated system to weed out the cheaters.
