Last week, Infinity Ward delayed the launch of Season 4 for Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone, initially planned for June 3. The unfortunate death of George Floyd sparked a wave of protests in the United States and beyond, demanding police reforms and racial justice. Subsequently, several game developers and companies postponed significant in-game updates and events, including Infinity Ward.
Moreover, the Call of Duty developer announced a list of stringent measures, vowing to crack down on racist content in the game. Additionally, they also added an in-game splash screen outlining their message of commitment to the Black Lives Matter movement. Amidst all this, leaks surfaced for Season 4, suggesting a new launch date.
A Twitter user was able to access data-mined information and pointed out the early hours of June 10 (UTC) as the probable time frame. However, neither the developer nor the publisher gave their official word for the new release date.
