The current season of Call of Duty Modern Warfare has brought loads of new content to the game, including the Spec Ops Survival mode. This mode was a PlayStation exclusive for a limited period of time and is currently the only CoD DLC to be available on more than one platform.
Right before the release of Modern Warfare, Sony had acquired exclusivity rights to the game, as Activision had announced. Although the game did not end up being a timed PlayStation exclusive, the Spec Ops Survival game mode did on PS.

That is, until now. As the community has seen, the Season 6 update patch on MW has brought this game mode to PC and Xbox, along with loads of other additions. Of course, this news saw a mixed bag of reactions from the CoD community.

A lot of players were happy with the mode being a DLC exclusive to PlayStation. However, on the other hand, other players on the console are more than happy about this mode being available on other platforms. Obviously, PC and Xbox players are happy about this as well.
Spec Ops Survival game mode comes to PC and Xbox, but what does it mean for future Call of Duty titles?
This can be seen in a rather positive light. Earlier, all CoD titles would be available on a selected console before being available on other platforms. Now, it is just one game mode. Needless to say, the future of CoD titles looks good now, exclusivity wise.

However, this inevitably raises questions about the upcoming Call of Duty title, Black Ops Cold War. As of now, there is no news of Activision signing an exclusivity deal with either Sony or Xbox. But if it does, maybe it will still be a limited exclusivity of a single DLC or game mode.
