Call of Duty Mobile’s Anniversary season is halfway through, but the surprises keep coming in. For the first time in the game’s history, a new rarity is going to be introduced in it. Up until now, we have had Legendary weapons as the highest rarity. Later this week, CODM will launch its first Mythic weapon.

The Fennec-Ascended is going to be the first Mythic weapon in CODM. The Fennec SMG was released earlier this season for the first time. The base version of the weapon is free and available in tier 21 of the Battle Pass. An epic variant of the same weapon is available in Tier 50 of the paid Battle Pass.
While many have claimed that the fire rate of this weapon is broken, nobody considers this weapon the meta. After the first one and a half weeks of using this weapon, the Fennec is now scarcely seen in ranked matches. While it is still a fun weapon to wield, the Fennec is not the first choice for many. Not with the likes of QQ9 and HG-40 in the SMG category.

Will the Mythic Fennec change the pay-to-win balance inside Call of Duty Mobile?

The Mythic variant of the Fennec might change the game on this front. As we see from the trailer of the gun, the mythic variant will come with multiple special customizations. One of them even sports a long barrel like the M4, suggesting an increase in range. It will be interesting to notice how much these customizations will affect the gun’s performance.
If the Fennec becomes broken with the Mythic variant, then it will be a problem for the free-to-play players. Given this is the first mythic weapon, the cost is expected to be considerably high. Therefore, if the paid attachments make the weapon overpowered, it will be annoying for free-to-players to counter it. This will end up disrupting the pay-to-win balance that currently runs in the game.

Here’s hoping the devs have thought this through. The Fennec Ascended releases on November 6. The method of purchase will either be crates or lucky draw.
