Call of Duty: Mobile recently celebrated its first anniversary after releasing last year on October 1. A partnership between Activision and Tencent’s Timi Studios brought over the classic CoD gameplay and gunplay to mobile devices. The game became an instant success and helped expand Activision’s horizons to regions where PC gaming and consoles are not as popular.
With CoDM having completed a year in the mobile gaming market, a look at Sensor Tower’s blog paints a good picture of the expansions brought to the CoD franchise by the mobile title. Following its release on October 1, 2019, CoDM amassed 100 million downloads in its very first week. That, in turn, led to 148 million installs in the first month and 172 million in the second month.

Call of Duty: Mobile has reached existing fans of the franchise and new players in regions all over the world. Subsequently, the game has hoarded almost 270 million downloads to date. Once again, the United States accounts for the majority of the downloads at nearly 50 million. Brazil is next, and India rounds up the top three.
By generating close to $50 million in player spending, CoDM ranked No. 22 among the highest-earning mobile games during its debut year. This was possible due to the thriving partnership between Activision and Tencent that transitioned the trademark Call of Duty content into a top-rated mobile game. CoDM is expected to release soon in China, making its way into the gaming market there.
